DOGS' DAY AFTERNOON

This weekend we took part in an amazing event - the Dogs' Day Afternoon - organised by Trace Publicity as part of a series of events for fashion editors and bloggers entitled Trace Presents.

Our stand at Trace Publicity's Dogs' Day Afternoon
Each attendee brought along their pooch for the afternoon and got to spend time with a number of doggy aficionados one on one for a bit of a pampered puppy fest!

Louise from The Darling Dog Company was there to welcome the pooches in and offered one-on-one consultations with the dogs and their owners to discuss any behavioural or training issues they may have. I know first-hand how valuable an opportunity this is as we had similar sessions with Louise when our rescue dog Roxy first came home with us and swiftly attempted to dig her way through our kitchen door and deposit the contents of the bin across the house. With Louise's help and advice, Roxy is now a very happy pup, our door is now in tact and our bin left alone!

After their session with Louise, the pooches headed upstairs where the handmade collars of Holly & Lil, organic dog food Lily's Kitchen and my east end best friend goodies awaited them. They also had a portrait drawn of them by illustrator Richard Short.

We got to meet some fab dogs and their owners: Grazia fashion editor Catherine Nieto, her boyfriend Gary and the lovely Liger, Sasha Wilkins aka Liberty London Girl and Posetta Baddog, Antonia Kraskowski from the Daily Express with her miniature daschund Holly, Style Brief Sian Ophelia Levett and little Peony, Morag Paterson from InStyle and the seriously cool Slim, as well as Sinead O'Connell and Bettina Vetter from You Magazine with Jack Russells Dolly and Daisy. And there was even a doglet there in spirit...stylist Emily Jerman is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her Border Terrier pup Rodney on Friday and came to get the doggy lowdown in advance!

It was fantastic not only to meet the owners and their dogs but also to put faces to a few familiar names. We got to meet Elaine from Holly & Lil - whose collars I've been coveting for a while - and Katy from Lily's Kitchen (already Roxy's favourite food).
Gorgeous Holly & Lil collars and yummy (as Roxy tells me everyday) Lily's Kitchen
For east end best friend I think our hit of the day had to be our cotton twisty tough dog toys and contemporary dog beds. Everyone was really excited about our geometric dog bed so I think a new colour-way in that design is called for! All in all we had a great forum to see what everyone thought of our stuff and I couldn't have asked for a better way to kick start east end best friend!
